About The Farm

Ducks waiting for breakfast! Our trees grow in the fertile soils located in the heart of the Hood River Valley, Oregon, at the base of beautiful Mt. Hood. We grow the colossal variety of chestnuts, which is a Japanese-European grafted hybrid. These chestnuts were not only developed for their superior size but also for their sweetness and ease of peeling. The nuts NutQuacker Farm Chestnut Treethemselves are about 2 - 3 inches in diameter and will average 18-23 nuts to the pound. They are harvested in late September through October and kept in cold storage until they are sold.

Our three children helped us plant our first orchard in 1994. Our land surrounds a pond where the wild ducks come and go and our domestic ducks nest. Additional acres were planted in 1995 across Neal Creek that separates our farm acreage.

NutQuacker Farms has been featured in the Alaska Airlines magazine, the December 2004 issue of the John Deere magazine, the September 2004 Ruralite, and several times in the Hood River News.
